Two pieces of advice that will help you in any walk of life

Our elders often given us the best advice.

Growing up, my grandfather would share so many priceless gems with me. I’d like to share just two of these:

Sometimes it’s more courageous to do nothing

We usually link ‘courage’ with doing something. My grandfather was a British ambassador and said from his experience that sometimes ‘reacting’ to something can escalate a situation. Sometimes by waiting before you respond, (a) the situation has changed and (b) things might have calmed down anyway. I suppose it’s a bit like playing poker. But it can certainly make you appear more grounded.

Never let the sun go down on your wrath

Always apologise before going to bed because things are usually amplified in the morning, more entrenched making it harder to recover the situation.
